Despite being vilified for selective graft war and facing possible removal by some influential presidential aides, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has said that he is ready to take the war to an end and give the nation a new lease of life.
Magu has ruled out the possibility of sparing any corrupt person in the fight, claiming that any Nigerian who commits an economic crime must pay for it.
“There is no sacred cow as far as this fight against corruption is concerned. We will go after anybody who has committed an offence. We will collect the money back, so that it will go back to the treasury and be used for the original purposes.
“I don’t care whether you’re black or white or you come from party A or Party B; the moment it can be established that you have stolen from the public treasury, we will go after you.
Even right here [in EFCC], if we discover that you’re corrupt, we will kick you out. And we are already doing that. So we don’t go after innocent people. We are going after the thieves of state resources.
Noise! Go after Ameachi, Tinubu and Fashola. Then we know you are serious.
ReplyDeleteThey are internal and repentant old economic armed robbers that are now helping the government to catch big, dangerous and unrepentant armed robbers. They know who is Buhari and what he is up to, but they fought and formed this government with him. Presently they cannot steal under him. Moreover this government has not started any investigation of last government at all. See the father NNPC, Custom, Transport and other IGRs. Presently it is still return and get bail quicker like Dokpesi and co, or prove stubborn and suffer like Olisa Metuh, FFK and co.

ReplyDeleteMr. Ibrahim Magu, if u want the 90% of non-partsan Nigerians who are seriously questioning your integrity right now to believe u, just behave like Nuhu Ribadu who was appointed by a PDP president and went after 90% of PDP members who were obviously corrupt and are now in APC and using u to take revenge. Yes, the Corrupt politicians that left PDP out of annoyance that EFCC didn't overlook their stealing because they were then in the ruling party are now your mentors and masters in APC and using u to commit outrageous atrocities against their old time enemies when they were in PDP. If u are not too blind to see what is happening, then u are equally as aggrieved as they are; but all other Nigerians can see clearly enough to know that u are sowing in corruption and corruption u shall reap in due time and in the hands of those using u now.
