#PMBWasted365Days - Nigerians blast Buhari for a 'poor' first year in office (READ COMMENTS)

Following the May 29 anniversary speech made by President Muhammadu Buhari to mark his first year in office, several Nigerians have taken  to social media to express their frustration and disappointment  in what many described as a 'poor' first year in office by the APC-led Buhari administration.

Many also faulted Buhari's government for failing to keep to the many campaign promises, others also vented the untold hardship they have experienced under Buhari's first year, stating that things are harder now in the country, even worse than the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

  1. The Corruption VS Integrity comparison is not funny. What sort of sick mind will try to justify a corrupt system. Things are hard because the previous govt did not save and Oil prices have fallen. Governors cannot pay salaries, that should be a perfect pointer. I chose Buhari over Jonathan anyday.

    2. Sola, good point. @ Efosa, GEJ would have squandered the savings for election if the GOVS didn't act then.

  5. This government is disgraceful. In civilized countries, the entire cabinet including the General would have resigned, in bad ass countries , all of the, would have been lynched but we are in a confused country hence we are simply moping and hoping. Buhari has nothing to offer and never had anything to offer. He prepared for bloodshed but power was given to him by Jonathan hence he is confused. All the dogs and baboons he planned to soak in blood are alive today although his Fulani brothers are killing some. He is just an ethnic bigot who has suddenly found out nigeria encompasses more than Fulani land.

  9. ABIKE DABIRI WRITES:

    "1.Saudi Arabia with a population of 26m
    has 16 functional refineries, to
commission another 2 of 400k barrel each
    per day capacity in 2016.

    2. The U.S State of California alone has
    26, Texas has 19 refineries

    3. While Singapore with a population of
5.6million people has 3 refineries with
    combine refining
    capacity 1.3m bp/d

    4. Nigeria has 3 or 4 (non functional
refineries) built in the 70s & early
    80s...now obsolete...16 years of oil
boom we didn't add even ONE.

    5. When you don't invest in our
    downstream sector, but handed out
importation licenses to cronies & acolytes.
Today we are paying the price.

    6. We are paying the price of our past
    profligacy, irresponsibility in governance
    and blind leadership.

    8. Egbin power plant was valued at $1.2
billion a German electricity company bid
but GEJ sold is to Sahara energy at
    $470m.

    9. Sahara had no previous antecedents on
power plant aside importation of petrol
but we handed them our LARGEST
    thermal plant.

    10. Easier to cry today but whatever
problems we see today was created
yesterday with the active connivance of
    all of us...

    11. Active connivance in the sense that
we all kept quiet & looked away... Our
    day just dey break?

    12. I am not exonerating the FG of
blame, but laying the facts as they are...
While you have the right to be angry, pls
    be angry with sense.

    13. Change will come but it will not come
overnight... A lot of mess was made
either out of omission or commission,
    change will take a while,

    14. I am laying these facts out and I
challenge anybody with contrary facts to
    bring it.

    15. I am doing this bcos I feel the pain
and agony we are going thru and I feel
the collective hurt but we must
    understand why we are here.

    16. I pray that the present FG will have
the courage and conviction to right so
many of the ills of the past. Our future
    depends on it.

    17. May Nigeria be great again & may our
collective suffering spur us to a greater
sense of true nationhood. Nigeria shall
    rise again!!!"

  10. To me, Buhari fulfilled 50% of his campaign promised in the area of security (100% peace have been restored), corruption ( huge amount of looted assets have been recovered. FG draw line on corruption matters) and economy (TSA and diversification of economy is underway) in 1 year when oil Price is below $30 per barrel campare to PDP 0% promised in 16 years when oil price was above $150 per barrel.

    1. You are talking rubbish. TSA and BVN were created and completed by Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. The directive already given for the implementation was carried out by APC. The peice of crude under Jonathan was 70 dollars. It's now over 50 Dollars. When it was more than 70 dollars under Jonathan, an Excess Crude Account was created that had over 20billion dollars, it was APC governors that took PDP to court ( led by Oshiomole) to force the FGN to share the money. Also why has the President not told us how much loot they recovered? I thought the President was innocent, but I now know he is also a liar like Lie Mohammed! Why is he still claiming the rescue of 2 Chibok girls when that has been proven to be a lie!!!
