Serial pedophile nabbed in Warri after defiling seven under-aged girls

Youths of Okere community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State have apprehended a suspected serial pedophile who ran away from the community several months ago, after defiling seven under-aged girls.



The suspect, who works as a security man in the Warri office of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), was picked up at his duty post in the early hours of Wednesday and was dragged to the police.

When the atrocities of the man were first discovered several months ago, the youths of the community had tried to catch him, but he had escaped after a very hot chase.

When he returned to the community after several months and was caught, the suspect was stripped and taken round different parts of the community before he was detained at the community cell, a witness said.

It was gathered that the suspect, a father of four children, was first exposed by his late wife. This led to the earlier pursuit and escape from the community.
The suspect was said to have allegedly indulged in the same offence at Edjeba community where he escaped to.



The Police Area Commander in Warri Mr. Mohammed Muazu confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody for further investigation.
