Fayose blasts Buhari - 'You are a big liar'

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has carpeted President Muhammadu Buhari’s claim that many of those who looted public treasury in the government of former President Goodluck Jonathan had started returning the stolen funds to the government, saying the president should rather stay at home to govern the country instead of junketing around the globe and “acting like a saint” before the international community.

The governor challenged the president to tell Nigerians how much was returned and the looters who returned the stolen funds, adding that “since the purported looted funds belong to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it ought to have been paid into the Federation Account and shared by the Federal, State and Local Government”.

The Ekiti governor’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, said in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday that Governor Fayose advised President Buhari to tackle the collapsed economy of the country headlong instead of going from one country to another, casting aspersion on Nigerians with his “sing-song of fighting corruption”.

He said the president’s attitude was yet to change from that of 1984 when he was military Head of State.

“Buhari’s statement in Tehran, Iran that it was easier for him as a military Head of State in 1984 to arrest corrupt individuals and put them in protective custody was a pointer to the fact that he has not changed from the dictator that he was then,” Mr. Fayose said.

“The truth is that Buhari did not fight corruption in 1984. Rather, he persecuted great Nigerians, especially the likes Chief Adekunle Ajasin, Chief Ambrose Ali, Chief Bisi Onabanjo, Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Bola Ige, who served the people meritoriously.

“Is Buhari justifying the imprisonment of Dr Alex Ekwueme, who was only the Vice President or All Progressives Congress (APC) leader like Chief Bisi Akande, who only served as a Deputy Governor?”

While urging the president to stop acting like the sole administrator of Nigeria and the only honest man among Nigerians, Governor Fayose said “Nigerians are desirous of concrete developments, not rhetoric about fight against corruption that is only being used to persecute perceived political enemies of the president both in the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, and within the APC”.

“As at today, Nigerians are faced with serious hardship occasioned by prolonged fuel scarcity that the Federal Government does not have any solution to. Multinational companies are laying-off thousands of workers while contractors working for the Federal Government have left their sites. Yet, what we get to hear from the president is noise in foreign lands about non-existing fight against corruption.

“Honestly, this president should get to work and stop lying to Nigerians and the international community,” he said.

  1. Tell him sir. It's such a shame that he goes around to other countries washing his country,s dirty linen in the public to the amusement of senior world leaders who would be wondering the kind of inferiority complex the black man has. Obama does not castigate Americans in Kenya nor Ethiopia.

  2. I concur with Fayose. Why will somebody return stolen money and you allow him to walk away? If truly they return looted funds. How is he sure the money returned is all they stole? Buhari should step up as President and stop the jamboree of power. Traveling always without any aims and achievement. Get these looters arrested for questioning. Jail and persecute any one found guilty. Nigerians are tired of media news of we shall, I shall, the govt will. All to nothing.

You should not be talking to my hearing becos you are not a credible personae due to the process that brought you was not credible and now under scrutiny. Therefore, you are not counted among the reputable Nigerian governors. Don't just try to be smart with this your childish and animistic behaviour. 10. Fellow sincere and patriotic Nigerians.

Even though a man has the right to express himself in which ever way he wants just as Governor Fayose is busy doing. However, I am of the strong opinion that we should not be dignifying is stupidity by commenting on is rather myopic and senselessly ignorant statements.

The more I read statements attributed to Governor Fayose, the more it reminds me of a highly irresponsible man I knew in my younger days. The man in question was always drunk and making senseless statements just like these ones. Governor Fayose statements are nothing but Beer Parlour jests and talks. It should not be treated with any sense of seriousness by anyone.

It's really a shame that someone like this should ever be in the Corridors of Power let alone be a State Governor.

May God complete the deliverance of Nigeria from utter backwardness in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

May the Lord continue to frustrate and reduce to oblivion all the known and secret enemies of Nigeria in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen and Amen.

May the Lord erase all the known and secret enemies of Nigeria like human fart in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen and Amen.

  11. This man is simply saying the truth and yet people Like "Emilia and Adebayo and Anonymous" are busy insulting him. Fayose is a real man who speaks out cos he has nothing to hide. If people are returning money, let the president tell us who they are and how much. And Nigerians are tired of hearing information about the country whenever the President is away. For the likes Emilia and co, let's not be myopic and sentimental, leaders need to be challenged. Amaechi once said that we steal bcos people don't throw stones at us but celebrate us. Fayose's argument is on point and needs constructive answer not insulting him. We need such men like him in Nigeria.

  18. Haven gone through Fayose's statement i must say that those of you who criticize him are either blind to the truth or unecessarilly biased in your thinking. Fayose has much points in what he is saying...Simple

    ReplyDelete
  19. I know fayose was smuggled into power and he is a tout, and he's not a likeable person, but he has some sprinkles of sense in what he's saying. Buhari said the federal government was trying to get more evidence to send the looters to court. If someone returns a stolen money, what other evidence do you need? That's proof enough that the person actually stole the money. If the monies are actually being returned, then he should tell us how much was returned, who returned it, and then send the person to court. The money belongs to nigerians, so nigerians ought to know the truth. There should be transparency.
Buhari traveling here and there at a moment where $1 = N230, at a moment where the electricity condition has deteriorated even more, where there's fuel scarcity, there state governors can't pay their workers, where there are still series of explosions going on from the boko guys,...it just isn't sensible of him! He could be represented by the Vice President in those meetings, or he could humbly decline for reasons of him first putting off the fire in his country.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Fayose should concentrate on how to develop Ekiti state and pay salary that his administration is holding.

    ReplyDelete
  21. If only Fayose could channel all d efforts he uses to attack Buhari to governing his state, Ekiti will be much better. Is he d only governor in dis country that he attacks Buhari and his government on a daily basis despite the glaring facts that PDP put this country in the state we are today. Nothing to show for it order than looting our treasury yet Fayose runs his dirty mouth everyday. I'm completely ashamed of him.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Na God go punish a this APC and Buhari supports. For supporting the useless act of PMB. Fayose is just trying to make u all see what is going on behind the scene and u all are here talking nonsense. U as a Nigerian what have u benefited from the traveling and visitation of PMB. Mind u, PMB spend millions of naira whatever he travel out of this country (Feeding, accommodation, security etc). I don't know about u all, but I think it's high time he start to do things that wi effect the change he promised Nigerians

  24. these people castigating fayose did u even read what he said at all? who returned the stolen fund? why playdown nigeria among international community? sort out the looming fuel crises that is biting hard on the common ningeria?
what has he done wrong apc sycophants?

    ReplyDelete
  25. It is quite a pity that we are once again promoting bad leadership, the earlier we raise alarm against the stagnant leadership of the present administration, the better for us. The time of propaganda is over, propaganda brought u to power but propaganda can not fix our country, it cannot grow our economy, nor stop fuel scarcity, let alone boost investment. I love the courage of Gov. Fayose, whether u hate him or love him, history will always refer to his courageousness in the face of impunity in our country. In less than 7 months as a president, PMB have already toured the whole continent. where are we going from here. WE NEED CHANGE. "TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN MUCH IS EXPECTED"

    ReplyDelete
  26. Fayose is a complete fool. He has no respect for elders. How can he be calling the president of the whole nation a liar. Fayose is one of those that loot the country treasury. Let Fayose tell the whole world how he manage the poultry farm he spent billions of naira on during his first regime in Ekiti. The queston to ask Fayose now is to find out whether is a governor or commissioner for information in Ekiti. Fayose you are seriously disgracing us in Ekiti. You are put in Ekiti as a governor to manage the affairs of state not to be running your mouth on what does not concern you. I am very sure hand of law will soon catch you to give details account of how you are spending our money on all these unnecessary propaganda on news paper. You should sit up in Ekiti and do something tangible and stop making noise.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He's not making noise. If money was returned it should reflect in the federation account which should be shared between FG and the states. So Fayose being a gov out to know how much is returned and how it should be shared among states in accordance with the law. If money is returned to FG purse and a gov don't know about it then I doubt if any money is returned or it was returned to Buhari family alone

  27. Is there anything wrong for a man to ask for details of what Mr president have said.. I see nothing wrong from what Fayose have said, You told us that Looters have started returning the money they stole but U forget to tell Nigerians how much they return and who are those pple.
I wonder why we like to protect the image and names of evil people in the country..

    ReplyDelete
  28. How can the president tell you the names of those returning the monies they looted. That means nobody will return monies again, can't you see?

Fayose is busy castigating the president, is that his job? He is a governor of a state, he should leave the criticism of the president to PDP central office and face his problems in Ekiti state.

I really do not respect Fayose views or criticism of this government anyway because he is not a credible person to do so based on the corrupt way he rode to the corridor of power. He is just looking for cheap publicity and I even like the way the presidency is ignoring him anyway.
