do State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent nomination of ministers, whom he described as “quality hands” needed by the country to achieve its desires.
Oshiomhole, who spoke at an event to launch an autobiography, ‘This is My Life: The Journey So Far,’ written by a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Emmanuel Emovon, said, “People may have political issues but in terms of the quality of those people, I have not seen any of them that anybody can dismiss as not worthy of his nomination.
He added, “And so we are going to have a Presidency and a Federal Executive Council manned by men and women that are determined to lead the path of change and all of us can contribute to make that change happen.”
He, however, urged Nigerians to support the president’s effort to build a new nation, which, he said, would guarantee hope for all.
“The future that I see and the future that President Buhari is determined to build is the one in which there would be strong relationship between effort and reward and your effort can only flow from what you know. It cannot flow from what you do not know and it cannot flow from who you know.”
The governor described the book as a timely contribution to Nigeria’s national development and later unveiled it with the sum of N10m – seven million on behalf of Edo people and one million Naira each for himself, his children and members of the State Executive Council.

ReplyDeleteI'm a lover of this administration, but ministerial nomination is a failure; even a mad man on the street of Benin knows that. It's however a shame that Oshiomhole's case is worse more than a mad man's case...
I used to like Oshiomhole because of the firm stand he used to take in National issues especially labour cases. But of recent, this once noble man has turned to talkative suffering from verbal diaerheoa. Sometimes, I begin to feel if he still have his mental sanity or is he deliberately seeking cheap favour from Buhari so as to be given another Agency to head after governing Edo State. But that is not a professional way of seeking such cheap favour instead he is gradually dragging to the mud his hard earned integrity and fast losing his relevance

ReplyDeleteOshiomhole, you forgot how you looted in the NLC. Do you want most of who helped to shield you to come forward? It appears you have lost your sense of decency. So, in your mind, Buhari has done very well in his selection of the nominees. If the Senate clears those crop of people, I shall be forced to forward the name of my daughter in SS2 to joint the race as a Minister because she has the potentials.
