The Nigerian House of Reps members on Thursday exchange blows over leadership tussle leading to the disruption of plenary.

NigerianEye gathered that members of House of Representatives were shamefully fighting in presence of some secondary school students who are on an excursion to the National Assembly.
In the house of reps, lawmakers loyal to Yakubu Dogara, the speaker, have taken custody of the mace to pre-empt moves to seize it by anti-Dogara members.
Many APC lawmakers are still unhappy with Dogara and Bukola Saraki, senate president, for upstaging the party’s preferred candidates for their positions.
Fracas ensued few moments after Dogara commenced proceedings for the day.
The house was to decide on the remaining principal officers but some lawmakers disrupted the sitting and attempted to hijack the mace.
The APC leadership is proposing Femi Gbajabiamila, defeated by Dogara in the June 9 election, as house leader, Alhassan Doguwa deputy house leader, Mohammed Monguno chief whip and Pally Iriase deputy chip whip.

ReplyDeleteAll our law makers are bunch of selfish individuals irrespective of their party affiliate. I have never seen them fighting to push through a masses oriented bill in either of the two chambers. We all sit down and look. The best we can do is to write senseless comments here. God will never change the situation of any community unless they rise against oppression themselves. In the last 16 years of our demon-crazy, what have we achieved with all these comments?

DeleteGod help Nigeria! I tuagth these House members were supposed to be law makers, leaders with good remark and character. i wonder what legacy they would live when all they think is to fight and gossip and plan on how to loot our God giving resources. GOD HELP NIGERIA!
