  1. Good qualification but wrong office for her. My fear is that she might be redudant as she is only an expert in drug management. INEC is a sensitive position and experience shows that all people who came from pure science have never done well in heading the electoral umpire. There is no room for learning on the job in INEC. I think we need someone from field of social sciences who understand the rudimentaries of election management.

  4. Oga, president, this is not the person to lead a body like INEC..You are excused since she is acting at the moment.. but Please, there are more capable/eminently qualified men and women of integrity in this country to head INEC but not this pharmacist. She can take over NAFDAC after Dr Paul Ohi's tenure to prove her own integrity and to try to beat the records of Dora Akunyili. My humble opinion. God less Nigeria...

  15. Something doesn't make me feel right about this appointment. I have serious doubts about this woman being the the right choice. Jega did too many battles to survive the unslaughts around him and for him to succeed. You need a tough skin for this job, not just paper qualifications. This is not the right person for this job, sorry Buhari!

  17. I had thought Buhari was someone who really wants Nigeria to make progress democratically but he has already started to fumble before he can show Nigerians he is a good Quarterback.
Does he think this woman could have faced Orubebe on the last March election final day?
What is the agenda here? Who are his advisers? Does Buhari think the job of INEC Chairman is just an administrative position? This may be the beginning of the end of it all for Nigeria democracy. Buhari you need to think before you act don't play ethnic politics if you want Nigeria to move forward.

    1. You people don't understand that every one is limited to their exposure and education. With the General's exposure and his age, what do you really expect? He is not Nasir El Rufai you know! Nasir is an intelligent and brilliant Northerner, but PMB is very far from that!

  21. Round pegs in round holes, we appointed Okonjo Iweala as Minister of Economy a round peg I guess in a round whole with all her experience in Banking and finance, yet the country's economy is in a mess, as for the new INEC chaiman (Hajiya Amina Waziri). She is a seasoned civil servant with experience in administration and drug law enforcement, as a commissioner she definitely understands how INEC works, so whatever is done is ok as long as Nigeria gets better. This issue of south east west may not be the way to go, let's all be patient, Buhari is looking at records before he appoints his team members, so please Nigerians be patient.
