MTN, Nigerian radio stations set to shut down due to fuel scarcity




In what is gradually turning out to be the worst fuel scarcity period in recent history, some radio stations in Nigeria,  Beat 99.9 FM as well as Naija FM have started to shut down services early due to the ongoing fuel/diesel scarcity.

Making the announcement on social media, the radio stations stated that they will be closing at 8:00PM.
Beat FM mentioned on air that services will resume on Sunday morning but that Monday could not be guaranteed.
Telecoms company MTN also sent out a message saying:

A 2014 slide-deck presented to foreign investors revealed that MTN Nigeria spends at least 70 percent of operating expenditure on diesel, with average monthly consumption in excess of ten million litres.

  1. Fuel scarcity here and there they know what they are doing just to make lives miserable for the in coming government and the masses well its the scarcity of something that brings about the creation of its replacement.
