IN PICTURES: Youths of Buhari's hometown wash their roads after Jonathan pays a visit

President Jonathan on Saturday visited Daura, Katsina State, the home town of the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari to pay a courtesy visit to the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar.

Shortly after his departure, youths took to the streets and washed the road he took to Emir’s palace with brooms and standby water tanker.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Jonathan warned that whoever nurses or associated with the idea of the purported Interim National Government (ING) as alleged by some politicians, would be dealt with according to the law.

According to him: “Let me use this opportunity to make a statement again because sometimes I read in the papers of people talking about interim government. Even yesterday some people were making pronouncement that some people are planning interim government.

“And I will say that anybody who is planning or who is linked to anything that has to do with interim government must be dealt with according to the law. It is treasonable and government will not allow it.

“So, if people are arrested and being prosecuted, people should not say government is haunting people. There is no reason why people should talk about interim government that is not known to our constitution. It is treasonable and I will advise Nigerians to keep away from it”.

  16. It's a great pity! GEJ gave you education, you left it and embrace illiteracy. Can you just see the evidence? I am totally embarrassed as a Nigerian! For thousand years great northern elites have been in power I wonder what stopped them from educating these children from the grassroot??? And you chose to insult the only administration that's bettering your future through education. My dear brothers in the north, how long will you keep sleeping in the bosdom illiteracy. Wake up! Wake up! Wake up now!

  17. Aboki na aboki..water to use for better things and they're wasting it..someone must have told them to do this and they all obeyed like the namma they are....its been 30 years since buhari ruled Nigeria as a dictator and since then he has. Not deemed it fit to go take one or two modern age professional courses..even OBJ went back to Open University and got himself a degree..Buhari is a stark illiterate trying to run d giant of Africa in this global-technological age..God forbid backwardness in our lives!

  18. So a northern APC. Power hungry politician use his money to sponsor this water tanker and Jerry-can in the desert and yet the people are so stupid that they cannot figure out who impoverished them. They have house of Representatives members local government chairmen and governor's. Northerners have ruled Nigeria longer than any ethnic groups yet they say that they are poor because of the last 6 years.

    It's really sad

    ReplyDelete
  19. See these ungrateful Northerners Ooh!! Who their children have been used as child voters to rig elections since 1960 are blaming Jonathan for their problems.
Unlike the north we don't threaten electoral officers with knives and force them to register a 5 year old as 22 years. We can express himself with pidgin and English how many children in the north have the basic Intelligence express themselves in a language that is not hausa. And yet northerners have ruled for ages.

Waiting for the day we divide so you will see the kind of poverty that will ravage the north of the country then they will respect the south.90% of your people are either in the military, politics and civil service. Feeding directly from the FG and the federal government money directly comes from the south. The south has been feeding you for over 50 years, show some #Respect.

It's not as if the past northern government performed better but we chose to be responsible humans.

Do you think if Nigeria divides today the country you fall into will be able to even pay salaries. You have no companies in your region, unlike the igbos you cannot do business, unlike the yorubas you are not intelligent.

So shut up and sit down so we can continue feeding you.
