Alhaji Lai Mohammed Gives Reason Why Gen. Buhari Cannot Present Original Certificate

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has responded to the statement made by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) should be stripped of his military status and privileges for joining the army with fake result.
Reacting to the PDP campaign spokesman’s assertion while speaking as a guest on Channels TV’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr. Mohammed explained that after Buhari was overthrown in a military coup in 1985, his house was ransacked and most of his documents were either stolen or burnt.
According to him, upon his (Buhari) return from exile, the former head of state swore an affidavit to show that his results were missing.
“This happened long ago. He was a former head of State and I don’t think he’s going to look for job anywhere where they would ask him to bring his original credentials. He swore an affidavit and he tendered it when he contested for the presidency in 2003, 2007 and 2011 respectively. So what is the noise about Buhari’s credentials?
“I also graduated from secondary school over 53 years ago and I don’t think I can find my WASC result at the moment. I think Buhari should be pardoned if he cannot produce his certificates”, the APC’s spokesman said.
When reminded that the Electoral Act was amended in 2010, Mohammed responded that Buhari used same affidavit to contest in 2011 without this controversy.
According to Mohammed, the controversy surrounding Buhari’s academic qualification is been brought up now because PDP leaders are jittery of the massive support the APC presidential candidate was getting from Nigerians.
“I think Femi is too fast. Why is he jittery? PDP is afraid because there’s no way they could win the presidential election next month”, he added.

  1. Is not a matter of being jittey, but of following due process and the law. after affidavit, you should go to the authority and get a certified true copy. The one presented is VERY questionable. Go to WAEC and bring the original or certified copy for the masses to see if you want to serve the masses. This is not military regime but a civilian dispenstaion where things are done according to the constitution and not by decrees!!!!

  2. is WAEC not there to tell us whether Buhari has the certificate or not. Corruption everywhere. PDP has no way to remove Buhari' s name from WAEC data base the way they remove some of his documents from his file in the army. What kind of case is this? Where on earth will this kind of hatred prevail. PDP is wining more sympathy/votes for Buhari with all these lies.

  3. but why did he say at the first time that his result is with the military? is it not being two mouthed?

  4. in other word GMD does not have WAEC and he wants to fight corruption after benefitting from the mess caused by Him and other Northern leaders by making our beloved country to be backward in everything due to their bias to Education.

  9. All the politicians and their wives should publish their WASC results in seven national failed or hold their peace about results. So many of them have no genuine results to tender.

  10. A sizeable numbers of Nigerians are literate people and we are not blind to all the errors on the certificate. The mistake has been made to publish the fake certificate.
    Note that
    (1) there was no West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1961
    (2) there was no class six (6) in 1961
    (3) the certificate was signed in 2015
    (4) there are other errors
If the election criteria should be based on certificate , then Buhari should not have a chance

  11. I have learnt a lot from the Buhari certificate
brouhaha. Since it happened I started looking for
    all
my certificate. Infact I have safely kept the receipt
for my jamb form, post jamb, lecture notes,
textbook, photos, my signing out white vest, NYSC
khaki, and jungle boot too. Who knows anybody
may request for it. If someone who schooled before
independence can be asked to present his
certificate, who am I? If you are lucky enough to
    still
have your secondary school uniform and sandal,
please keep it. Who knows, any clueless person
    can
    ask for it.

    Mark!
