Jonathan is up for the 2015 presidential contest with Tinubu not Buhari - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party has said that its flag-bearer, President Goodluck Jonathan is up for the presidential contest in the February 14, 2015 election with the former Governor of Lagos state, Sen. Bola Tinubu and not Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.).

It therefore said that there was no way the former head of state would be in charge of the country if elected.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Sunday said the APC Presidential candidate, Buhari is merely a front for Tinubu to whom the ruling party alleged he(Buhari) has already surrendered his powers and first official assignment of choosing a running mate.

Metuh alleged that the development clearly confirms that Buhari is not in charge, and that he may have been compromised and willing to be appropriated

He said that patriotic Nigerians from across the six geo-political zones are now embarrassed that Buhari is playing a godson to Tinubu.

The statement reads in part, “In surrendering his prerogative of choosing his running mate, Buhari has confirmed that he is being appropriated and compromised to serve a personal and narrow group interest of a cabal on whose ticket he emerged as the presidential candidate.

“This APC cabal under the command of Tinubu tampered with all the rules of their party to achieve their selfish agenda of planting surrogates in all strategic positions to enable Tinubu expand his economic and political frontiers the way and manner he did in Lagos state.”

He added that a vote for Buhari in the forthcoming presidential election is clearly a vote for Tinubu, his political and economic interests.

Metuh said, “Indeed, the possible calculation of this cabal, if they ever get to power, is to choke-up Buhari and ultimately frustrate him out of office thereby allowing Tinubu to have total control of the economic and political interests of the nation.

“Therefore the question the citizens want answered remains, ‘is Tinubu the face of the so-called change the APC wants to bequeath to Nigerians?.”

  2. We, nigerians are wiser now oooo PDP; it is time for PDP to leave power since they don't have interest of the nation at heart. Metuh! many politicians in APC sacrificed their political ambitions for BUHARI to restore Nigeria: it's not only TINUBU this time. Prepare to pack your load from Aso Rock because RIGGING is NOT possible again

  3. The argument is valid and should be answered without insulting any party or individual. Tinubu has made himself a got to APC. He has planted every key contestant in the party and now he is the one choosing a running mate. Tinubu is the most corrupt politician in southern Nigeria if not the whole Nigeria.

  4. It is a lie! All that Buhari wanted is inclusive government that had eluded the PDP. Lack of involving all stakeholders in decision making in PDP make many governors to defect to APC. Do not feed Nigerians with lies!

I think the every well meaning Nigerian who belief in democracy should have the morale to recommend the process put In place for the choose of APC presidential running mate. It should not just be a one man decision as PDP does. Carry on APC stakeholders

  16. The question to PDP is; is Uncle Jona in charge? They (PDP) should mind their business and face the reality that Nigerians no longer need their services in 2015.

  17. What is PDP's business with how APC gets their running mate? Are they that confused? So this is the only way you maggots think u can discredit Buhari. Ehat a shame

  18. PDP has descend so low that they can no longer reason clearly any longer. They have started hauling personal abuse to condemn personality. This strategy will not work for them, who are they afraid of Tinubu or Buhari. So PDP can fear Tinubu? Cant help but to laugh my heart out because Jonathan & his fake team has really lost it. If you are confident Jonathan has performed don't fear then, mumu dem

  24. Buhari just lost my vote by mere reason of choosing Tinubu as his running mate. Obviously, he won't be the one ruling but Tinubu, that is if Tinubu dosen't stage his impeachment in the first few months of becoming president. Whatever informed his decision for choosing Tinubu, he shld remember that Tinubu is a shrewd businessman who has no permanent friend but only permanent interest. He might bankroll their election, but he'll surely reap it a 100%. Buhari shld have chosen Fashola instead. But Tinubu? No way! every low point that Fashola has recorded in his governance has been blamed on Tinubu, including Nepotism, extortion and what have u.....................so sad Buhari just lost one vote and am sure many of his fans share in this same view of mine. Tinubu will sell this country and pocket the money.

For Now GEJ is the best combination that works for Nigeria -Christian /Muslim that is want represent Nigeria.

Tinubu is beta than madam jona. two good heads are beta than metu, abati, okupe, deziani and patience put together.it's good that PDP is already conceding defeat. we are voting for vision, transparency, cohesion and unity. anyi achoghi ndi ohi na ndi ara. Nigerians are wiser now. where is the fresh breath of air we were promised? what happened to the power sector? there will be no room for rigging this time around. if Jonathan is the best thing PDP can offer Nigerians, it means PDP doesn't mean well for the country. nobody should tell me about Muslim or Xtian trash cos it won't work. I am an Anglican from Oguta in Imo state.that doesn't mean that I should support a fellow Xtian who is a thief. this Nation can not be balkanized along religious and ethnic divide. I only pray that APC should produce a Xtian V.P to silence critics.

  34. we can all make our points without insulting or relegating another's opinion. If we on dis forum can't even show the slightest respect to one another's view, what guarantee do we have that given the opportunity to be president tomorrow, that u won't be a dictator? And dis is directed at u, anonymous 2:58pm. from ur attacks on people's points of view, you've displayed tyrant tendencies. And if u don't intend to start schooling us all on reading, then i wld wanna believe i can still read well. I voted GMB the last time cos he passed on all my indices of assessment, both character wise and integrity wise. I was very convinced he wld fight corruption which has been our biggest growth inhibitor. I don't care abt the religious pairing, so long as it's with a reliable person with track records, which is why i beleive BRF will be a better match. Not cos i think they are saints, but cos i know they will not leave Nigeria in dis economic dungeon. They will work to see that Nigeria lives upto her true potentialities, regardless. PDP led govt has no soul or conscience. I'll definitely vote for change and i hope other Nigerians who wish this country well will do the same. This is the least we can do for this nation, it's our civic responsibility. We owe this to this country, the decadence has risen above the sea level now. we have yet another opportunity to save her, but not with people of overly questionable character. Lagos state became Tinubu's private firm, if not wit the intervention and goodwill of a visionary like BRF, if he had played entoto to the gallery of Tinubu, Lagos wld have been a lost city. Let's not leaved fate of dis country in such hands. I subscribe for GMB/ BRF. This is a match that will produce enviable results. My take............................u have a right to urs. God save Nigeria and all d nations looking upto us.
