SHOCKING VIDEO: Nigerian lawmakers jump gate into National Assembly

Security operatives, Thursday, fenced the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal from entering the National Assembly Complex.

Lawmakers who accompanied the speaker had to climb the second entry point gate as some who could not climb sustained injuries while trying to scale over.

At about 10.54am after much entreaties the speaker was allowed entry but other lawmakers were denied entry.

The speaker’s official car was detained but after his entry into the outer space of the complex, Security men barricaded him and shot tear gas carnisters into the air to scare him but the speaker stood his ground. .

The speaker who got to NASS at about 10.38am was accompanied by a long convoy of cars and was allowed to pass through the outer gate entry point.
The Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha arrived earlier at about 10.35am and was given a presidential passage into the complex.

  2. PDP, be careful. Any attempt to impeach Tambuwa will throw this nation into crises.

  3. Tambuwa should be impeached, the constitution must be followed. If he got there through PDP and now defected to any other party, he has no legal right to be there.

    3. Pls read the constition provision of such issue as it affects the national assembly and the governors. They are different and should be applied differently. Its good to have knowledge first before arguing or consult a good constitutional lawyer to interprete for you.

  9. This is the height of irresponsibility. Why cant the executive (police) help this country a bit? There is no justification for using tear gas against the speaker of the federal republic. It is totally bad. How can Nigeria under the current government degenerate this low? This is unbelievable. Even if Alhaji Tambuwal killed someone? I weep for thIs country. Obasanjo see what you have caused us. Am sure when Obasanjo was ochestrating this plan in 2011, he never new things will turn out this way. Oh may The Almighty God, the Alpha and the Omega, the begining and the end help and save us all through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

  10. Who are my people you unpatriotic Nigerian. Where is decorum in jumping fence like common thieves. Where is morality in Tambuwal grandstanding as minority speaker of the house. Where is patriotism in their display. Could you spot any honour in the actions of our supposed honourable(s)?It is a shame to say the least.

GEJ should be left out the brigandage in the house. You must think again if you believe that PDP will sit back and watch minority APC produce the speaker. It will justify the nonsense happening in Ekiti. Tambuwal is very unpatriotic. He would have been my hero if he stepped down after deffecting rather than throw the house of assembly into this kind of pandemonium. I agree that the police did not do well but lawmakers should know better that two wrongs can never make one right. It is unfortunate,

  11. This country is about to breakup!!!!...APC and PDP are all the same...but sadly APC is bringing tribalism into this by making all Northern leaders defect from PDP which will only make them vulnerable during the election because the opposition will use tribalism and religion to make APC look like bad eggs. A party is not supposed to be a Caucasus. I am sure Tinubu did not believe it will get to this level because i am sure he does not have control over the party anymore which means Buhari will be the leader of the party at the end of the day. Gov. Amechi is no longer saying anything because he has realized even VP will not get to him because they will rather give the slot to Rochas. 2015 will determine the way forward in Nigeria. God bless Nigeria.

That honorable members who are suppose to b making laws for us are acting lawlessly because they have allowed political jingoism to aggravate political sectionalism within them. At this point, may b the military should take over and later restore nomarcy.

  19. Vote out the present govt in 2015 and vote me in as an independent candidate and i bet you, things will change for good. Just as one good turn deserves another, one bad turn deserves another. Bcos ppl acquired position through other parties and later sneaked into PDP with heroes welcome from PDP to them, so also the the reverse should be the case. As long as there is no sanction for past decampees, no authority have the moral right to question Tambuwal. If he must resign, then let all who have ever decamped be made to resign in that order upto Tambuwal. All parties in Nigeria are unwholesome. Let independent candidature hold sway so we will know that we are voting for individuals with proving credibility.
