PDP justifies invasion of APC secretariat

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the opposition, the All Progressives Congress, of planning to get power at all cost.

It alleged that the claim by the Directorate of State Security that it raided the Lagos office of the opposition, because of an information it received that the APC was cloning Permanent Voters Card and utilizing technologies to hack into INEC’s data base to compromise the 2015 general elections, was an indication of its stand.

A statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh in Abuja on Monday, said the DSS allegation was “a clear confirmation of our stand, and fears by well-meaning Nigerians of APC’s criminal desperation, lust for power, plot to cause confusion and truncate our democracy.”

He alleged that since its formation, the APC had been accusing everyone including INEC and security agencies of working to rig the 2015 elections in favour of the PDP.

He said little did Nigerians realize that such allegations were smokescreens, which he alleged was designed to divert attention from their heinous and unpatriotic plots.

The statement said further, “We believe that the APC, in its desperate attempt to grab power by all means, has already established cloning and hacking centers in all the 36 states of the federation to actualize their dubious machination to subvert the will of the people.

“We insist that the cloning of INEC PVCs is criminal and strikes at the very heart of our electoral process. We share the fear of a majority of Nigerians that the APC may have already started cloning ballot papers and other election documents.

“It is in this regard that we call on all Nigerians and lovers of democracy across the world to note the desperation of the APC. Our citizens must therefore remain vigilant and resist any attempt by the APC to steal their mandate.”

He called on security agencies to fully investigate the alleged cloning and ensure that whoever was found culpable faces the full weight of the law.

  1. The constitutional work of the SSS is to collect evidence in their investigations. This SSS must be PDP own because what they did was destruction of a legitimately established data collection centre. This is another gaffe by the Jonathan administration to perpetuate their impunity and destruction of our democracy.

    2. Mr Everfrank or Mr Everlie, that you belong to APC shouldn't make you change your name. Is it possible that the allegations from the DSS is true? A building without an official address of APC? What were they doing in that house when others are still in bed. Wait for the outcome of the investigation.

  2. Evafrank, can't you read? I am an APC supporter too, but this allegation is very grave and must be investigated.

  3. Why did the DSS not show journalists in a press statement samples of the cloned cards? You people are being used by the people in power today, but do not forget that no man will remain in a position forever. It has been said before that PDP went into merger with NPF, DSS NNPC, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air force, Nigerian Navy, INEC and other agencies of government. You people should kontinew, Diariz God.
