Pastor Adeboye Defends Ayo Oritsejafor Over $9.3m Arms Scandal

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye has reacted to the $9.3m arms scandal that recently hit the leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.

Airing his opinion on RCCG’s Facebook walls hours ago, Pastor Adeboye who is not known to react to controversial issues, wrote “One Anointed can not attack another Anointed. A Pastor can not attack another Pastor. Touch not MY Anointed is what God said.”

”Pastor Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor is a man of GOD I trust and I can personally vouch for him. I believe on the issue of his aircraft being chartered and the purpose it was used for, that he had no prior knowledge. I’m sure God will continue to build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail in JESUS name.” he stated.

  1. Interesting, so you believe Pastor Adeboye actually manages this page. I can almost assure you he knows nothing about this post on this Facebook page.

  3. Confirm pastor Adeboye can never condescend so low by using social media to dabble into hectic and controversial issues such as this. This is not him. This is a cloned Facebook page.

  4. We keep quoting "touch not my anointed" has any of us even recently bothered to read psalm 105 vs 7-15 where this was stated? It was said concerning the children of Israel not just the priests or prophets. Hence we who are redeemed are all anointed...not just MOGs....I repeat I am sure Pastor Adeboye did not post that up there.

    1. Who cares about what you believe. What makes you think someone will use his aircraft to commit a crime when there are other avenues to exploit?

  7. ...of course, you will know na because you are the controller of his mind. Shameful idiots..... You are all hypocrites filled with bitterness, you all better leave men of God alone cos God has not put them under your scrutiny.

  8. Touch not my anointed. That's like the immunity clause in the Nigerian government. You deceive yourselves, we are equals in the eyes of the most high. No title will be relevant before him on that day of judgement. Reverend father,Bishop,His excellency,Prof,Dr,Engr,Prophet,His Royal Highness, etc, will not be recognized before the Almighty. Therefore, stop trying to intimidate us with whatever you think you are. I don't know the truth in the arms deal, but we must all in one voice tell these men of God that Christ gave instructions and showed examples that modest, simple life was what he prescribed for his followers. He entered Jerusalem on a borrowed Ass,even though he could order a golden chariot straight from heaven. Today our men of God own and maintain private jets when the cost of purchase and maintenance could provide free education for millions of an impoverished generation. This same fund could be used to save lives of children who die on per second bases from starvation and lack of basic health care. Charity which is the greatest motivating factor making people to part with valuable wealth but they are rather used in maintaining luxurious and flamboyant lifestyles for the so called Anointed. SAD!

  9. @ Anonymous 9:14am let me ask you a few questions...when Jesus said woe unto the pharisees of his day and called them various names, was he not putting them under scrutiny? or are the pharisees not men of God? Anointed for that matter?.
When Nathan rebuked David for Adultery and Murder did he not put him under scrutiny? Was David not God's annointed?
When Samuel publicly rebuked Saul did he not put him under scrutiny? Was Saul not annointed.
O ok you want us to keep quiet like the children of Israel did when Eli's sons desecrated God's house and God allowed them to be defeated in battle and the ark of covenant taken away? Never!
The part of the scripture we use to provide immunity for these MoGs is simply being miquoted. If we read the whole of Psalm 105:11-17, without sentiments we will know otherwise.
See the earlier we call our men of God to order the better for all of us as Christians. As it is we all (Christians) are guilty of this and the earlier we make amends the better it is for the body of christ.

  10. Sir, did u say you can vouch for him? So commercialising a jet that he registered for private for financial gains is part of being anointed? being partisan in political affairs is part of being anointed? so because one is anointed then he cannot be reprimanded or rebuked when he goes astray?
guess it would have been better for u if u neva said anything, then the respect and regard u command amongst a few of us would still be intact. i hope am not offending God by advising 'an anointed' man?

  11. I am in agreement with @ Anonymous 1:15pm

    In Galatians 2: 11
Paul rebuked Peter at Antioch in front of everyone.

    In Matthew 16:23
Jesus rebuked Peter in front of everyone.

    In Luke 9:55
Jesus rebuked James and John openly.

    In Acts 8:18-24
    Peter rebuked Simon the Sorcerer.

Open rebuke of Christians either as Pastors or as members of a church is sanctioned in the Bible.

Besides the position of CAN president was not created by God, it is an elective position that any Christian can aspire to...

  12. Accept the statement or not, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor is best CAN President ever produced since its inception. We love him and all your bitterness would keep on making him scaling new heights. Those who can see far(in the spiritual realms) are solidly behind him and we're praying for him.

One thing you have failed to realise is that Christians are no longer plenty as your so called men of God has led so many astray.

  14. Leasing out JET by a pastor is part of evangelization. At least, South African treasury was evangelized when the huge $9.3m landed in their pocket without hassle. Heaven is rejoicing for such a large catch. Congrats! men of God.
