Oyoms Alamieyesigha, a son of ex- Bayelsa State Governor, Diepriye Alameiseigha, is dead.
He was found dead in his father’s home in Dubai, the United Arab Emirate, on Saturday.
Oyoms, said to be the second to the last son of Alamieyeseigha, fondly called the ‘Governor-General Niger Delta,’ while he was a governor, was killed on Saturday in the Middle East country.
Sources familiar with the development alleged on Monday that the deceased’s death was a case of assassination.
Two different versions have been given concerning where the former governor’s son was killed. The first version, our correspondent learnt, was that Oyoms was found dead by the staircase of his father’s house in Dubai. However, the second version alleged that the deceased’s body was found in his hotel room in Dubai, giving impression that he might have been assassinated.
It could not be established whether Oyom’s father, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, had traveled to Dubai to take possession of his son’s body.
Indication that he might not have traveled emerged when he responded to a text message sent to his mobile phone on Monday at 12noon.
Though it was later learnt about 2pm that he was headed for Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, in company with one of his older sons, to probably board a flight to Dubai.
In his response to the enquiry on the incident, Alamieyeseigha simply said, “he was killed in Dubai.”
However, as of the time of filing this report, the circumstances leading to Oyom’s death remained sketchy.
Sad. May his soul rest in peace. However,people stealing our common wealth should know that this sort of cheap money may become their children's greatest undoing.

ReplyDeleteMay his soul find rest, all these corrupt leaders stealing us dry should know that even the children and grand children they are keeping the money for may not be there to eat the money. nobody is sure of his tomorrow so live with a good conscience. That said, the poor boy does not deserve to die at the hands of evil people, let God be our judge.

ReplyDeletePeople need understand too that money stolen by these people are meant for critical development in the country that can save peoples lives, and as such, lots of people have died due to non availabily of these services, rather, these people use it to send theor families abroad to live extravagant lives, while you and I are languishing in poorverty, even death visits many due to stress, high bp, lack of medical equipment or light to operate the equipment, bad roads and many more. But some people are sentimental that some people are happy that someone who stole public funds lost something. God can do and undo. King Pheroah son died b/c he refused to allow Isrealites to go as commanded by God. So many more might happen to most politicians who do not fear God but kin or bent on destroying our Nation in the name of politics, since many of them sees it as a game undermining people's suffering. Let who have ears hear and ask for forgiveness.
