The Police Command in Enugu on Tuesday said it arrested four women for allegedly selling a three-month-old baby girl.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relation Officer, Mr Ebere Amarizu, in Enugu.

According to the statement, the women live in Enugu, Asaba, Awka and Onitsha, respectively.
It stated that a 22-year-old mother allegedly sold her baby at the sum of N150,000 to a woman, who in conjunction with another, sold the baby to a woman at N450,000.

The statement stated that the mother of the child alleged that she sold the child because she could not take care of the baby.

The statement stated that the baby girl had been recovered. (NAN)
