Insecurity: Jonathan, govs, heads of secuirty agencies, religious leaders meet



An expanded meeting of the National Security Council is underway at the Presidential Villa with President Goodluck Jonathan, state governors, heads of the various security agencies and para-military organizations in attendance.



The meeting which began at about 12:10 pm also had in attendance, the President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Nigeria and the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar and the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.

The expanded National Security Council meeting was summoned by President Jonathan following the bombing in Nyanya, Abuja and the abduction of over one hundred female students from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno.

The governors of Rivers, Jigawa, Lagos, Edo, and Ogun were represented by their deputies except for Lagos state which had no representative at the meeting at the time of this report.

Ministers in attendance at the meeting are: Abba Moro of Interior; Gen. Aliyu Gusau Defence; Abduljelil Adesiyan Police Affairs, Viola Onwuleri, Foreign Affairs, Akinwunmi Adeshina Agriculture and the Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke.

The Security chiefs in attendance are; the Chiefs of Army, Navy and Airforce, as well as the Inspector General of Police, the Comptrollers General of Customs and Immigration, Corp Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp.

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor , President of the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Sultan of Sokoto, the President of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs were also in the meeting.
