British High Commissioner To Nigeria Donates Blood To Victims Of Abuja Blasts



Following the bomb blast, Monday at Nyanya in Abuja, some of the injured victims at Asokoro Hospital needed blood urgently and the message was sent out to the public to come donate blood at the hospital or blood transfusion center. A lot of people came out to donate blood including the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Andrew Pocock.

You too can save lives, Monday's bomb blasts left many deaths in its wake but a lot more people are injured and are currently in danger of dying due to the shortage of blood at the Asokoro General Hospital as the hospital’s resources are reported to be over stretched.

To donate blood, visit Asokoro General Hospital 11, Julius Nyerere Crescent, Off Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Asokoro, Abuja. Go straight to the Laboratory. (Or National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) Abuja. No. 39 Abidjan Street, Wuse zone 3,. Abuja ) They’ll test to ensure the blood is eligible and then they take one pint of blood The test results take a few minutes though. Let us ensure those who are not dead can still live. You can also donate items like soap, drip, syringe, bandages, detergents and other things you believe would be needed by the hospital at this time.

  2. What happened to Jonathan's blood? How come the British HC got there before him to capture the photo op or was our numero uno's blood rejected?
