Mikel Or Moses Will Win The CAF Award - Kanu

Former Super Eagles forward Kanu Nwankwo, has tipped fellow countrymen John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses, to win the 2013 African Player of the Year award.

Kanu, who has picked up the gong twice, is the last Nigerian that won it in 1999, but he expressed his belief that Obi and his Chelsea team mate have done enough to bring back the plaque.

“I think for me Mikel should win it this year, or Victor Moses,” Kanu told KickOffNigeria. “They had a great Nations Cup and then won the Europa League with their club.

“And then if you look at Mikel’s performance at the Fifa Confederations Cup, he was simply outstanding, so I believe he should win it.”

The 37-year-old then explained that Nigerian players must do enough, to be able to win the continent’s top player.

“I think the players have to prove themselves like they are doing now and I am happy that Stephen Keshi is encouraging them to play at their best,” he added.

So who do you think? Mikel or Moses? Tell us...
