I Don't Regret Leaving APGA For APC - Okorocha

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, said he has no regret leaving the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) which brought him to power for the newly registered All Progressives Congress (APC).

APGA chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, had last Friday announced the expulsion of the Imo governor over alleged anti-party activities.

Reacting to the expulsion while at a town hall meeting of the Imo State Congress of America 2013 national convention in Atlanta, USA, Okorocha said the wellbeing of Ndigbo remained paramount in all his actions, as the APC remained the reputable platform for the actualisation of the political dreams of Ndigbo.

“APC remains the best vehicle to promote the interest of our people. PDP has marginalised the southeast and has nothing to show for all its years in power,” Governor Okorocha stated.

While urging Igbos to embrace the APC as it guaranteed equity and political opportunities denied by the ruling party, Governor Okorocha said the action of a faction of APGA was of little political consequence as the party lacked the national spread to give the Igbos a political headway.

  2. Remove the A in APC and replace same with N, and if you have any knowledge of Nigerian history, you will realise the quantum leap a section of the country has made in the political arena. What they couldn't achieve during the days of Awolowo has now been handed over to them on a platter of gold by a dishonest and moronish Yoruba son, who is intellectually empty but carries on himself an over bloated ego. Awolowo must be turning in his grave and raining abuses on Tinubu. Ode arooo.

  3. Owelle we Anambrans is waiting for Nov to disgrace APGA PDP provided APC presents a candidate we all want. D whole southeast stand wit u on APC just forget few amongst us dt are talking rubbish. Were hoping n believing dt Inec will conduct a free n fair election. Let d evil men dy think dey can buy us wit moni come,w'll eat der moni n still disgrace dem. Wer not fouls in igboland. APC holds better chance if w'll get VP for now come 2015,its better than Deputy Senate President who is nowhere to be found.

  4. Useless governor. You have always followed the wrong group. APGA gave you hope and you betrayed them. We shall see where you ended up. Buhari and Tinubu are not Democratic enough to establish a party with a National spread. APC will end up with 2 states in the North, 3 in the south-west and some deviants like Okorocha from the south-east.

  5. To join hands and fight a common enemy does not make two people friends. Tinubu and Buhari let us see what you will achieve with the likes of a political prostitute like Okorocha.

  6. Lol, very funny.
APC winning Anambra State is like CPC winning Anambra state, or any Eastern State for that matter. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

i know Igbos may not have their own identity, APGA/PDP conundrum, but allowing a party that is being heralded by the Yorubas and Hausas combined to have dominion over them as well is near impossible. we shall wait and see.

Before y'all start yarning dust, I am an Igbo fellow, living in Lagos in 2011 and i voted CPC for presidency (Buhari). But then, not everybody that is as logical or radical as i am.

  7. It is only in Nigeria that people like Bola Tinubu will strive. Interms of Rochas Okoroach, the only way I as a person can accept his joining APC, is if only they zone the Presidency to the South-East. Otherwise, he is representing only his family in APC.

  8. Gov. Okoroacha, your romance with Apc can't remove our confidence in APGA which is d platform ur won election. Having betrayed d people's confidence, be assured u have started ur journey to political retirement like ur predecessor - ohakim. Its unfortunate u didn't learn from history. I personally wish u well but know that you can only full people once not twice!

  11. Owelle Rochas, I hail your decision to join APC. It is the best political move to come from the South-East in this period. My concern is whether you are developing Imo enough to keep up your image and political hold.

On Igbo politicians, I said it before and let me say it again. They are utterly foolish. PDP ca never provide Igbos with any platform. APGA can never develop any teeth to bite. Obi was a product of heroic worhip error galvanised and catalysed by a fallout of PDP's usual usurpation disintegration. Okorocha was a result of personal political manouvering and strategy. APGA never produced any of them because it is not a party. It has no plans, no strategy, no base...compare with the clear plans and performance of the ACN. That is why Obi is confused, because there is no party structures, plans and strategies to support him and give him direction. Okorocha is working with personal plans.

Therefore, rather than call APC a Yoruba and Hausa party, why not join it at the onset, state your terms, obtain some agreements and use it as a platform to leap into the future. I am not a plotician, but I am an Anambrarian and I see decay in Igbo land.

  14. Kudos, Owelle Rochas has made good decision. JEG has no regard for the IGBOs, so what do you expect Igbos to DO?

  16. It is bcos Okorocha is a patriotic Nigerian that he is taking the right decision. I will b an APC member is this man called Okorocha become the Presidential or Vice presidential candidate atleast. This man means well 4 the entire country not only 4 Igbos. I believe those who r always sentimental, regional and religious bias will never progress.

  17. 9ja POLITICIANS are the same, whether they are in PDP, ANPP, CPC, ACN, even this MUMU APC. They all seek for their own SELFISH & GREEDY INTEREST and that of their wife, children, extended family and unborn grand & great grand children. So RACHAS if U like JOIN PDP na U SABI. RUBBISH!
