Wizkid Blasts Unilag Students: ‘I don’t do cheap money’,

The past few days has seen Wizkid caught up in spiraling events that has either threatened his life or almost landed him in trouble! First it was a near-tragic automobile accident involving his newly acquired Porsche Panorama and then on Wednesday afternoon, June 19; a near-detention incident at the Zone 2 command Onikan of the Nigerian Police force after he was invited to explain why he allegedly collected N500,000 from some University of Lagos students and then failed to appear at their show.

The story is just unfolding. According to investigations, Wizkid was invited alongside his manager Godwin Tom for questioning by the police after he failed to appear at UNILAG’s Concert of Life which took place at the institution’s Sports Centre on May 21st. He was at the station for a few hours and was only allowed to leave after he’d written a statement and bailed by his lawyer.

He was asked to report to the station next week.

Observers say, these Unilag students may have been scammed by an imposter and this is what Wizkid thinks too.

He tweeted

My Camp and I don’t do cheap money! If you want to book me for a show holla @ my team @Godwin Tom or @DisturbingLDN
Wizkid is smokingly expensive, with performance fees shuttling between 2- 3million naira. It takes only those with financial guts to walk up to him for a performance.

The case is now a police wahala; Wizzy and his camp have refused to discuss the matter any further.
