The Lagos State Police Command yesterday, arrested three suspected members of separate robbery gangs said to have been terrorizing residents of Alakuko and Ebute-Metta areas of the state.
Surprisingly, one of the suspects was a dismissed police corporal.
This is just as three persons lost their lives Wednesday night after an Iveco Truck with number plate AAA 92 XA driven by one Samson John, hit a Hyundai Bus with plate number XU 721 BDG at Itamaga Junction, Ikorodu.
Spokes person for the command , Ngozi Braide who confirmed the arrest ,explained that policemen from Ebutte-Metta division who acted on tip-off, stormed a make shift building in Ebutte-Metta where they arrested one Chinedu Onwunure. A search conducted round the building according to her, led to the recovery of a double barrel gun with nine live ammunition.
During preliminary investigation, it was gathered that the makeshift building was used as a hide-out and also meeting place before the gang went for operation.
