Musa Dalhatu after he climbs down from the mast

A middle-aged man identified as Musa dalhatu yesterday afternoon climbed up the telecommunications mast at the premises of Federal High Court in Abuja, threatening to jump down and kill himself.

He said he would come down only if he sees the Acting Inspector General of Police or former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who allegedly owes him some money.

According to an eye witness who requested anonymity, Mr. Dalhatu arrived at the premises around 12.00 pm to lodge a complaint and submit a document to the court in which he alleged Abubakar’s indebtedness to him.

The event took a dramatic turn as the mystery man began to ascend the mast immediately the rescue agencies arrived.
"We just saw him climbing the mast and when we asked him to stop he continued to go higher and higher," the eyewitness said.

According to  another eyewitnesses account, Mr Dalhatu had ignored appeals from people who saw him climbing the mast around noon. He threw a note down, claiming he climbed the mast because he wanted people to intervene in a dispute between him some prominent Nigerians.

Security agents had a hectic time trying to control the crowd that gathered to watch the spectacle.
Those around the mast were initially gripped with fear thinking that the climber went up with a bomb.

It took the persuasion of NEMA and other security operatives, to make mr musa come down from the mast.

  8. Assuming its true,What for God's sake is 15m to Atiku that he will make someone want to commit suicide? For the man to go that far, it is obvious he has been frustrated beyond measure. The ''Rich'' are mostly wicked and greedy. The find it more difficult to release money than the poor except where they want to receive cheap popularity. They can never give in secret to receive God's blessing. Infact they will wish to grab the little that the common man has. That is even actually why they are so rich.Their end is however like that of ''The Rich man and Lazarus(Lk. 16:19-31)

  12. Sucide attempt is a criminal offence but Musa's case should pls properly be investigated droping all protocols and legal rigours because for a man in Nigeria to go that far then he must been really fraustrated.where his claim is true he should not be prosecuted but Mr. Atiku should pls pay him for God's sake
