Gunmen raid residence of former aide to FCT minister

Gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers, on Thursday in Bauchi, ransacked the residence of Muhammadu Danladi Audu Maiauduga, a former Special Adviser (SA) to the FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed.
Speaking to journalists yesterday, Mr Maiauduga said the incident occurred around 1.30am.

“Mr wife phoned me and informed me that armed robbers are inside our house and when I opened the curtains of my window to see for myself, I heard several gunshots that forced me to lie down,” he said.
A former Bauchi Local Government chairman, Mr Maiauduga said the robbers ransacked the room of his wife and carted away everything valuable in it, including jewellery, mobile phones and money.

“When I noticed they were headed to my room, I shouted to attract the attention of my neighbours who immediately came to the house to rescue us, but the robbers made away with our valuables,” he said.

Police spokesperson, Mohammed Barau who confirmed the incident said, “the police have received the report on the attack , the case is still under investigation.” He also said no arrest has been made.
